After Nick and Meg Cassidy married (The Pregnant Bride, 12/01), Sam Reno decided to join his foster brother in Kane’s Crossing. Mourning the loss of his wife as well as the horror of his job with the D.C. Metro Police force, Sam returned to his home town for some peace, accepting the job as sheriff. After all, what kind of trouble did Kane’s Crossing have? Plenty, at least as far as Ashlyn Spencer was concerned. Known as the town troublemaker, Ashlyn met up with the sheriff and sparks flew, especially since he blamed her parents for the death of his father. Ultimately, Ashlyn found solace and love, not with her estranged family—who had to leave the country due to legal issues—but with Sam, who treasures her above all else.
At the present time, they include Taggert as part of their brood, along with the little bun growing in Ashlyn’s oven. (His Arch Enemy’s Daughter, SSE, 03/02).
