Kane Spencer Statue

In Pioneer Square you’ll find a memorial to the revered town founder, Kane Spencer. According to the textbooks, Kane planned the town as a communal area but, generation after generation, the Spencers took more control until they basically owned Kane’s Crossing. A few old timers at the general store whisper that Kane wasn’t the saint he’s purported to be. In fact, there’re those stories about the murders in The Meeting House by the cemetery…. Another interesting aspect about the statue: Lately, gossips have prattled on about a stranger who’s been seen near Siggy Woods. A man who bears an uncanny resemblance to Kane Spencer (The Black Sheep Heir, SSE, January 2004).
